Lloydspharmacy's sponsorship extension at the Ricoh Arena
Community pharmacy chain Lloydspharmacy has agreed a two-year extension to its sponsorship at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
The Coventry-based company, which has its headquarters in Walsgrave, initially signed a three-year deal in 2010 which has now been extended until 2015.
The organisation will also continue to host a number of events within the Ricoh Arena’s conference and exhibition facilities each year.
Leon Rudd, marketing director at Lloydspharmacy, said: “We’re pleased to be extending our partnership with the Ricoh Arena. As a major employer in the area supporting the local community is important to us. The Ricoh Arena is an excellent facility bringing world class events to local people such as major concerts and of course more recently the Olympics.
“We employee more than 20,000 people across the country with over 800 based at Walsgrave Triangle, so having a facility like the Ricoh Arena to hold large events locally to our headquarters has been a huge advantage for us.”
Liz Cooper, marketing director at the Ricoh Arena, said she was delighted Lloydspharmacy had agreed to remain a key sponsor for a further two years.
“We have built a strong relationship with Lloydspharmacy over the last three years and we are looking forward to maintaining and developing our partnership moving forward,” she said.
“Lloydspharmacy has used our extensive conference and exhibition facilities to host events for its staff who are based throughout the country since the Ricoh Arena has such a fantastic central location.
“We have some great high-profile events on the horizon over the next two years which will give the company further national and international exposure to increase their profile.
“The sponsorship announcement is great news on the back of announcing the Davis Cup and we’re also looking forward to welcoming Muse and Bruce Springsteen this summer which is testament to the exciting times ahead.”
Lloydspharmacy is one of the country’s leading pharmacy retailers. The company employs more than 800 people at its head office in Walsgrave and has over 1,500 pharmacies across the UK.
