North East Firm Identifies Offshore Coating Opportunity
A Cramlington based engineering firm known for its complex manufacturing services to the oil and gas industry is leading the way in specialist coating solutions. The manufacturer recently achieved success through a globally recognised premier authority for corrosion control in response to its painting and coating efforts.
Renown Engineering has made a significant step within its plans to offer complete specialist coating solutions to its customers. Renown employee, John Parry, proved his expertise through successful completion of the intensive NACE Certified Coating Inspection - Level 2course and examinations. NACE International has become the global leader in developing corrosion prevention and control standards, certification and education. This qualification means that Renown can now provide specialist coating capabilities in advanced inspection techniques and specialised application methods through the services of their NACE Certified Coating Inspector – Level 2.
This achievement derives from a strategic investment decision by Renown Engineering to develop capabilities in both personnel and facilities, further investments have included major improvements into Renown’s in-house paint shop. Renown Engineering’s Managing Director, John Hamilton, stated that this was a significant addition to the company’s ability to offer a full, in-house service. Mr Hamilton commented ‘this was a strategic decision to invest further into our painting facilities, responding to a demand for high specification coating systems from our clients, particularly in coating for offshore and subsea environments. I’m delighted that we can now offer this service thanks to John’s expertise in the field.’
Renown Engineering has been a trusted supplier to major customers in the oil & gas, defence, marine and energy industries for over 25 years. The manufacturing firm is an engineering service provider and specialises in complex machining, fabrication, armour welding, design, repairs, painting and coating. Renown Engineering is a member of the Renown Group of companies.
