Regional IT company wins national award
A regional IT company has beaten off competition from global computer giants to win a national award.
SITS Group, from Cramlington in Northumberland, provides cloud computing solutions to private and public sector clients across the UK.
At the VMware Partner Recognition Dinner in London, the company were awarded won the Small Business of the Year Award.
SITS Group, who formed in 2008, were also shortlisted for the Rising Star award.
VMware, Inc - an American firm that provides cloud and virtualisation software and services – shortlisted 30 out of its 3000 corporate UK partners to compete for the 13 awards.
Global companies, such as Dell, were also in attendance at the event at the Mayfair Hotel in London.
SITS Group, based at Northumberland Business Park, specialises in all areas of cloud computing, from virtual desktop and server consolidation to cloud management and disaster recovery solutions.
Port authorities, legal practices, car manufacturers and public sector organisations are currently listed among their clients.
SITS Group commercial director Phil Cambers said: “This award was recognition not just of our commitment to VMware but of our creativity and skill in using its systems.
“VMware is one of the biggest software providers in the world and winning this award puts us in the top one per cent of its UK partners, which is a marvellous achievement.”
