Elanders drams up new business with acquisition
Elanders UK have completed the acquisition of one of Scotland’s best known specialist packaging and labelling companies, McNaughtan’s, which will bring with it new business opportunities to Elanders’ North Tyneside premises, adding the production of labels and packaging to their existing portfolio of services.
McNaughtan’s, based in Cumbernauld, north east of Glasgow, specialises in labels and tube wraps for the Single Malt Whiskey industry. The existing Scottish premises and all the employees based in Cumbernauld will be retained and will add their considerable knowledge and skills to the Elanders’ team.
Elanders UK, based in North Tyneside is the UK arm of the global Elanders Group, and has experienced positive results in the past financial year with its offering of creative, print and digital services to a number of high profile clients across the world – achieving sales of just under £18,000,000 for 2012. The recent acquisition will fall in line with its strategic growth plan of expanding its services outside of its traditional print base, over the next five years.
The acquisition, which was completed on Tuesday 12th February, will also bring positive growth to both regions’ economies. As Kevin Rogers, Managing Director at Elanders commented; ‘strengthening our service offering across both companies will undoubtedly create greater opportunities to attract additional quality business from across the globe, for both north east England and west central Scotland’.
