Durham electrical contractor makes Yorkshire acquisition
Durham-based electrical contractor, John Cullerton & Sons, has bought a Yorkshire building services firm.
Castleford’s R Levitt Ltd has been saved from administration, preserving eight jobs.
The building services maintenance firm trades as Levitts and provides electrical contractors and maintenance engineers to the likes of Royal Armouries, North Yorkshire County Council and Carillion plc.
A loss of contracts had lead to reduced turnover and cash flow difficulties, and earlier this year the business went into administration at the hands of David Wilson and Julian Pitts of Begbies Traynor in Leeds.
Mr Wilson said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured a future for this Yorkshire business which has been trading for 57 years, but became yet another victim of the downturn.
“By joining forces with John Cullerton & Sons, we are confident that it has a bright future.”
