Daresbury IT firm acquires K10 Solutions

A North West IT service provider has announced its six-figure acquisition of Aberdeen-based K10 Solutions.

Daresbury-based adept4 will take over the Scottish IT company and absorb its six staff members, while K10 Solutions’ chief executive, Graeme Coghill, will remain in his position for 12 months to oversee the transaction.

This purchase marks adept4’s first movements in its strategy to tap into the North Sea oil and gas market by creating a presence in Aberdeen.

The company also has offices in Cockermouth, with data centres in London, Bracknell, Newport and Runcorn.

“Aberdeen is a strategically key location for oil and gas industry in the UK and we’re keen to capitalise on this concentration of business and industry by developing our base here.

“K10 is a great company with a talented and motivated staff and we’re looking forward to incorporating them into our existing team.

“adept4 already has a number of clients in Aberdeen and this deal allows us to enhance the levels of service and availability that we’re able to deliver to our existing and developing client base.

“This acquisition has also created valuable synergies – through the sharing of contracts and leads and has enabled us to significantly develop our contract base in Aberdeen.”

adept4 has seen significant growth over the past year, with a number of acquisitions and a £1m contract to provide IT services to global maritime firm, Viking SeaTech.
