Hunters home sales increase by over 30%

THE TEESSIDE branch of the UK’s fastest-growing estate agency is bucking the property trend by recruiting new staff on the back of a year-on-year 30% increase in sales.

The most northerly franchise of national estate agency Hunters is celebrating a “highly promising” second year in business with the recruitment of experienced agents Philip Knight and Brian Briddick.

With David Badger moving into a new role as manager/valuer of the company’s offices in Middlesbrough’s Borough Road, Philip is Hunters’ new personal agent for Ingleby Barwick, while Brian has taken on a similar role covering the Marton, Nunthorpe and Ormesby areas of Middlesbrough.

Hunters partner Ian Pattison said: “Against a really challenging property market and general economic downturn, we’ve sold over 30% more properties than we did in the previous 12 months.

“Having only launched in late 2010, we’ve quickly built a thriving business by offering unrivalled customer service that focuses on the personal touch - people selling their house deal with the same personal agent from start to finish, from valuation to sale of their property.

“It’s not an easy market but if your property is presented well at the right price then there is no doubt that we can find you a buyer, whether it’s a one-bed apartment or a 10-bed mansion.”

Sussex-born Philip, 40, has moved to the north-east having gained vast experience with estate agents in Suffolk, Surrey and Lincolnshire.

After selling many “amazing properties” including mansions for up to £4 million in London’s Suffolk and Surrey commuter belt, he spent 10 years selling houses in Lincolnshire market towns.

“Hunters have a great brand name on Teesside, but the challenge for me is to further raise our profile whilst ensuring the focus remains firmly on high levels of service,” said Philip. “I’m offering the people of Ingleby Barwick an 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week service.”

Born and raised in Middlesbrough, Brian joins Hunters as a personal agent after a year as valuer covering Darlington and Yarm for Your Move, having previously specialised in lettings from Manners and Harrison in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.

“I’m excited and motivated about the challenge of helping Hunters build on their successes of the past two years,” said the 26-year-old, who will soon qualify as a member of the National Association of Estate Agents. “I love Middlesbrough, I know the town very well and I can already see increased demand for homes in popular areas like Marton, Nunthorpe and Ormesby.

“I am a one-stop shop for home-owners, providing them with a personal service that they can trust to get the very best price for their property.”
