Manchester cable firm cheer training partners

Worsley-based firm Auto Marine Cables has praised its long term business partner, Business Impact, after a number of years working together.

Auto Marine Cables manufacture low voltage cable and wiring accessories, which it distributes across Europe.

The company said it takes a “rigorous approach” to training, and requires constant improvements to keep up to date in its sector.

Gateshead-headquartered Business Impact has worked with the firm to train Auto Marine Cables staff and ensure all workers have a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification in BIT techniques.

Operations manager at Auto Marine Cables, Alan Ainscough, commented: “We first selected Business Impact because they were approved by SEMTA, the sector skills body for our industry, and we wanted to find a robust and recognised partner for training.

“We set a minimum standard for BIT techniques and felt it was important that everyone in the business was qualified to the minimum standard.

“The teams tend to select projects that tackle work related issues, implementing practical solutions to what have been at times long running concerns.

“Because everyone in the business has gone through the training program, all employees understand the ‘improvement language & techniques’ and although might not be directly involved in the teams are prepared to assist with any improvement activities.”

Dave Radin, key account manager at Business Impact, added: The great success of our relationship with Auto Marine Cables has been that they wanted bespoke training that they could apply to real situations.

“Ensuring all staff understand the language of improvement techniques has been essential for the business to constantly focus on driving improvement into their products and services.

“We have enjoyed the close working partnership which has formed over years, and look forward to continuing to support the business as it grows and develops.”
