Bannatyne's in Fairfield welcomes new restaurant

A new restaurant, owned by budding Bedfordshire entrepreneurs Scott Paterson and Steven Mitchell, has opened at Bannatyne’s Health Club and Spa in Fairfield Park.

The Orchard Fairfield Restaurant and Bar is situated alongside Bannatyne’s Health Club, within the historic setting of Fairfield Hall, in Stotfold. It boasts a fresh, modern look, complete with soft furnishings and displays of local artwork.

Surrounded by the picturesque Bedfordshire countryside and Victorian architecture, The Bannatyne Group has agreed to lease the restaurant to business partners Scott and Steven, to enhance the experience received by members and spa guests, as well as the local community.

As part of Bannatyne’s commitment to deliver a comprehensive approach to healthier lifestyles, guests at the Health Club are able to experience a wide range of relaxation and well-being opportunities. With a fully equipped gymnasium that features the latest range of cardiovascular and resistance training apparatus, a candle-lit swimming pool, a variety of exercise classes and the offer of luxury beauty treatments, including massages and facials, both men and women feel fabulous after their visit to Bannatyne’s Fairfield.

The Orchard Fairfield Restaurant and Bar completes the Health Club experience and also provides a social hub for local residents, by offering a selection of menus throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

With a fully licensed bar and an exciting evening menu on the horizon, guests will enjoy a rustic twist on classic dishes, share a selection of tapas with friends at the bar or indulge in homemade cakes and freshly ground coffee.

Co-owner and Restaurant Manager Scott Paterson, 33, said: “Steve and I are thrilled to have opened The Orchard Fairfield and appreciate the support Bannatyne’s have given us in our new venture. Having worked at restaurants previously and being a member of Bannatyne’s Health Club I know what members want. Plus, I am a resident of Fairfield Park, so I understand how important it is to get this right for the local community as well.

“Whether you have just finished a training session in the gym, are celebrating a special occasion on a luxurious spa day, or simply passing by after walking the dog, the new restaurant offers something for everyone.”

Steven Mitchell, 29, is a practised chef who has 13 years experience working for local restaurants and hotels, as well as Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant at Claridge’s in London.

He said: “It was always my ambition to own my own restaurant and meeting Scott sparked this opportunity. We know it will be hard work, but it will all be worth it knowing we are offering quality food, at affordable prices, in a welcoming environment. We have already received positive feedback and been able to create new jobs for the area. It’s really exciting.”

The General Manager of Bannatyne’s Health Club Fairfield, Sean Marriott, is pleased to welcome Scott, Steven and the rest of The Orchard Fairfield team. “We are passionate about supporting local businesses and we are confident that The Orchard Fairfield will be a great success in the capable hands of Scott and Steve.”
