V1 and Nichols plc finalists in Green Awards
Document management and imaging software author, V1, is a finalist in two categories of the Green IT Awards 2013 in partnership with soft drink specialists, Nichols plc (Nichols). V1 has won the award for three years running and will find out if they are successful at the ceremony at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London on 9 May 2013.
Now in their fourth year, the Green IT Awards showcase and reward the technology, tools and solutions, as well as the companies and organisations that have made a significant contribution to improving the IT industry?s environmental performance over the past 12 months.
V1, in partnership with Nichols, has been shortlisted in two categories, Environmental Project of the Year (private sector under 100 employees) and Carbon Project of the Year.
Nichols selected V1 to drive its paperless office agenda, which it has integrated with the group?s core Sage finance system. The solutions enable Nichols to store all incoming and outgoing paperwork electronically into a secure archive. The project has seen Nichols eliminate 3.8 million sheets of paper, saving approximately 970 tonnes of carbon, since implementing the solutions in 2007.
Allan Doyle, Head of IT for Nichols, says, ?V1?s document management and imaging solutions has enabled us to secure a more agile and efficient business and importantly has been integral to perfecting our green credentials. The solutions have been key in allowing us to monitor our green savings and give us the incentive to strive for more.?
Greg Ford, Managing Director, V1, says, “To make the final of the Green IT Awards for the fourth year running really shows the impressive environmental benefits of our document management software. Companies, like Nichols, are using our solutions to cut paper and reduce carbon emissions, as well as deliver a range of cost and efficiency benefits.”
V1?s portfolio of document management and imaging solutions enable the electronic creation, storage, retrieval, management, delivery and authorisation of business documents. By implementing V1?s systems, businesses significantly reduce their paper consumption, cutting costs and improving process efficiencies whilst supporting their environmental agendas.
