TUC conference comes to Newcastle
The Northern TUC will hold their Regional Conference in Newcastle this weekend, drawing over 150 delegates.
Following the death of Margaret Thatcher this week, a major opponent of the unions, TUC delegates will discuss the direction of trade unionism and trade union priorities over the next two years.
This year’s Conference is called ‘A Northern Future that Works’ and will look at how trade unions can help address major issues impacting the North East and Cumbria, including employment, welfare reform and pay.
To coincide with the conference, the TUC have published a report: ’The 10-Point Plan for a Northern Future that Works.“
On Saturday April 13, TUC General Secretary, Frances O’Grady, will address delegates.
