Planning firm sees off multinationals Vodafone and Visa
Planning consultants Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners has won a prestigious national charitable business award - ahead of multinational corporations such as Deutsche Bank,
The consultancy, with offices in Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester, was named Company of the Year in the JustGiving awards after raising over £75,000 for children’s and cancer charities to mark its fiftieth year.
Its NLP 50 charitable drive in 2012 saw it exceed its initial £50,000 fund-raising target, benefiting charities such as the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation in Newcastle and Yorkshire Cancer Centre from the Leeds office.
The consultancy opened its Leeds office in 2011 and this office is headed by director Justin Gartland. He said: “These awards are considered to be a premier showcase of fundraising and corporate social responsibility in the UK.
“We saw off competition from some extremely prestigious organisations such as Deutsche Bank, Reckitt Benckiser, Visa Europe and Vodafone.”
Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners managing director James Fennell said: “This is a fitting tribute to our NLP 50 initiative, is a testament to the efforts of all staff and clients and provides an excellent transition period to progress our corporate social responsibility efforts into 2013.”
A spokesperson for London-based JustGiving said: “Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners is an independent, employee-owned town planning consultancy with a strong ethical business ethos, which encourages responsible planning that balances economic development with public and environmental interests.
“Their client portfolio seeks out not for profit as well as private work so the company has a strong appreciation of the role charities play.
“Every staff member showed unswerving dedication to the cause with some clever ideas including creating and publishing a book of planning jokes and cartoons.”
The awards ceremony took place last week at the Troxy Theatre in London’s East End.
