Mills & Reeve announce six new partners
Manchester lawyers Mills & Reeve have appointed six new partners after announcing a merger with George Davies on Wednesday.
Two internal partner appointments were revealed at the firm’s Manchester base along with four from their other offices.
Alison Bull and Deborah Clarke will become partners in the family and private tax teams in the office on New York Street in the North West city centre.
The firm said Alison is a “leading light” in her practice and is recognised as a Band 1 individual in the Chambers UK legal directory, while the Manchester family team for Mills & Reeve is also ranked in Chambers UK and Legal 500.
She chairs the national Resolution Standards Committee and sits on the Greater Manchester Family Justice Board, and is an accredited mediator, collaborative lawyer and councillor.
Deborah is a barrister and chartered tax advisor, and had also worked in accountancy.
She helped establish the firm’s private tax team after moving from the Birmingham branch in 2009.
Mills & Reeve said her work on family investment companies also help them secure the Private Client Team of the Year trophy in last year’s Manchester Legal Awards.
Alison and Deborah will both take leading roles when the George Davies team merge to become one combined company in the Manchester office.
Four other partners have been appointed in the Birmingham, Cambridge and Norwich offices.
Senior partner at Mills & Reeve, Mark Jeffries, said: “I am delighted that we had such a strong field of candidates this year and expect that the “Class of 2013”, along with our enlarged Manchester office, will be very significant for the future of Mills & Reeve.”
