Fab lollies producer sold to French firm
The producers of Fab iced lollies, R&R Ice Cream, who are based at Leaming Bar, have been bought by French private equity firm PAI Partners.
The firm manufacters popular brands such as Fab, skinny cow and Kelly’s cornish ice cream at its North Yorkshire facility and was sold by Oaktree Capital.
Reuters reported the deal to be worth €850m, and PAI will finance it through a €253m payment-in-kind scheme, a form of debt that allows borrowers to pay interest in more debt.
It was also reported that PAI intend to retain R&R’s senior management, and invest in expanding the company’s Yorkshire operations.
