Nichols plc and V1 scoop ?Environmental Project of the Year?

V1 wins Green IT award for fourth year running

15 May 2013 ? Nichols plc, in partnership with document management and imaging software author, V1, has been awarded ?Environmental Project of the Year? at this year?s Green IT Awards. This is the fourth year running that V1 has been honoured with the award, which was presented during a prestigious ceremony at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London on 9 May 2013.

The Green IT Awards showcase and reward the technology, as well as the companies and organisations that have made a significant contribution to improving the IT industry?s environmental performance over the past 12 months.

Soft drinks business, Nichols and V1 won this award in recognition of Nichols document imaging project with V1. Nichols selected V1?s solutions to drive its paperless office agenda and now stores all incoming and outgoing paperwork electronically into a secure archive.

V1?s solutions integrate into the group?s core Sage finance system and have enabled Nichols to eliminate 3.8 million sheets of paper, saving approximately 970 tonnes of carbon, since implementation in 2007.

The Green IT Awards, on behalf of each winner, has sponsored one acre of the Choco Andean Rainforest in North West Ecuador, to help extend and protect it.
