Sanderson Weatherall scoops leading regional property award

Sanderson Weatherall LLP has officially been named Yorkshire and the North East Property Advisor of the Year by Estates Gazette for an impressive ninth consecutive year.

The chartered surveyors beat off rivals to win the award based on EGi research data. In a change to the judging criteria, firms were judged according to their activity and who had transacted the most space proportionate to the sector they operated in. Sanderson Weatherall ranked first with 8.8% of transactions; the other short listed companies included DTZ, JLL, CBRE and Knight Frank.

Gerald Jennings Land Securities picked up the EG Developers Award at the same event for the Trinity Scheme.

Bob Fletcher, Retail Agency Partner at Sanderson Weatherall said: “This is a great achievement for the whole team. The last few years have been challenging for the property sector but our knowledge of the local market is second to none and it has paid off.

“We are immensely proud of our roots in the North. Our successes here help us to build our wider growth plans across the UK, as we continue to extend our market offering and office network.

“The EG Regional Awards are keenly contested and this year the criteria for winning has changed from votes from clients to measuring the number of sales and lettings transacted by each firm across the region. Not content with winning the previous eight awards on the old criteria it is particularly satisfying to win this year and on different criteria. Our Agency teams are truly the best and most active in the business – now its official!”

Acknowledging the firm’s reputation in the North, it was recently appointed one of a group of five agents to secure a place on the Government Procurement Service’s (GPS) four-year Estates Professional Service Framework Agreement RM928.
