Exclusive deal clinched by innovative manhole manufacturer

A leading drainage specialist is to supply one of its most innovative manhole covers to the UK’s leading hard landscaping company in an exclusive deal for 2013.

Fabweld Steel Products’ SOLOSLIDE™ Driveway, which was launched last year, will be sold exclusively via the Marshalls Group which supplies a network of landscapers and driveway specialists across the country.

Marshalls is the UK’s leading transformer of hard landscapes, with more than 120 years’ experience of providing high quality products to the sector.

Fabweld managing director Richard Hilton said the deal was developed following the successful launch of the SOLOSLIDE access cover at the British Association of Landscape Industries’ 2012 Show last June.

The product offers an intelligent solution to concerns over both plastic frames and heavy covers by combining a recessed access cover with strength and rigidity with a unique feature which removes the need to physically lift the cover.

The pioneering frame and cover is fabricated from mild steel and has been designed to be filled in with solid material to blend in with the surrounding area. A unique feature of the SOLOSLIDE™ Driveway, part of FSP’s FAB Pave range, is an ergonomically designed key which allows for single person operation.

Mr Hilton said: “We are delighted to have secured this agreement with Marshalls following several months of negotiation. The SOLOSLIDE Driveway was demonstrated to contractors, driveway and paving specialists earlier this year during the Marshalls’ roadshows across the UK, and sparked a great deal of interest.

“We’re thrilled that this has now led to an agreement to see our SOLOSLIDE Driveway offered exclusively to Marshalls customers and we’ve already received feedback about how well then product is being received.

“We’ve combined strength and rigidity, within 3mm mild steel, making the frame much easier to install. The unique ergonomically-designed metal lifting key enables single person operation, lowering maintenance costs for services inspection as well as eliminating health and safety concerns.”

Claire Blake, of Marshalls Group, said: “We’re really excited to be working in partnership with Fabweld to supply this highly innovative product, only available to Marshalls, exclusively to our Register members.”
