Thomas Swan invests in cutting edge CRM technology
Performance and speciality chemicals manufacturer Thomas Swan has developed ground breaking software which uses live data to revolutionise the way it interacts with its global client base.
The County Durham firm’s new CygNET system was developed on the back of in-depth market research which uncovered customer demand for a more hands-on relationship with the chemicals company.
The customer relationship management (CRM) system gives clients their own personalised online account featuring live data on product orders and pricing, sales statistics and tools to compare different accounts, such as those spanning separate overseas markets.
After several businesses have already trialled the software with positive results, Thomas Swan expects the unique technology to be hugely popular among its other customers following its launch.
Sales and relationship support executive Jo Hind said: “After listening to what our clients want and investing significantly in implementing it, we have developed something that is unmatched anywhere else in the industry.
“The fact that our customers will be able to access live data and produce reports, graphs and presentations around their orders at the push of a button will be of huge benefit to them in these challenging times.”
Using CygNET’s sales analysis and reporting functions, Thomas Swan’s premium customers will be able to retrieve instant data on past orders on a month-by-month basis – which can in turn be used to create branded reports in various formats, or compared against other time periods, accounts or territories.
The system also features a document vault giving clients access to past invoices, certificates, product and market data as well as a rich seam of regulatory information around the chemicals industry.
Thomas Swan was established in its current home of Consett in 1926 and is one of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of performance and speciality chemicals for a range of different industries.
It exports to over 80 countries worldwide, with offices and warehousing in the UK, USA and China, serving a global network of distributors and clients.
