Enterasys Networks increases education revenue by 141%

Enterasys Networks has increased its overall education revenue in the UK & Ireland by 141 percent, with a 37 percent increase in wireless business during the first half fiscal 2013.

Key to Enterasys’ growth has been its ability to meet the demand for technology, which helps schools looking to embrace Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). St Austin’s Catholic Primary School in Liverpool implemented Enterasys’ IdentiFi Wireless LAN solution in response to students wanting to use their own devices in the classroom.

Steven Tallant, ICT Development Manager, St. Austin’s Catholic Primary School said: “Enhancing the learning environment for students and teachers was a top priority for the entire team at St. Austin’s Catholic Primary School. Working with Enterasys Networks to enable wireless connectivity in the classroom has accelerated these initiatives and provided our teachers with the technology resources to continue to provide a world-class learning environment. Additionally, we’ve relied on the service and support from Enterasys to navigate and quickly rectify issues.”

Enterasys has also implemented its OneFabric Wireless and Wired solutions at Barking Dagenham College.

Education has some of the highest demand for Wi-Fi coverage with BYOD flexibility, but it also faces the greatest risks and challenges when implementing it. In the face of this device invasion, from students and staff, the school’s network resources and data must be protected from unauthorised and malicious use.
