Keeping tidy is all about cable management

As a later Spring has finally sprung, leading home products producer D-Line is advising that spring cleaning is an opportunity to make a lasting difference to the home.

Paul Ruddick, founder of D-Line, which sells its cable management tools across 20 countries, says that once the job of spring cleaning is completed, the danger is that the untidiness will soon settle back in.

However, he argues that, if the opportunity is taken to put in place some methods of keeping things as tidy as you leave them, ensuring that when the next cleaning time comes it is both easier and less necessary.

“We know customers complain having to clean around cables, because of the extra time and hassle of wiping around fiddly wiring, or trying to vacuum under a spaghetti of cable clutter” said Paul.

“If, when you clean a room, you make an assessment of your wiring, you can almost always find a way in which they can be managed to stop them being not only a problem for cleaning, but also very often a safety hazard, especially when you have children or pets.”

D-Line manufactures contemporary cable covers, which are designed to give an aesthetic solution to wiring in the home.

Alongside aesthetically-pleasing trunking and the accessories which make it look great in the home, D-Line’s range includes:

Cable Tidy Units to keep multi-socket plugs and their cable wiring in place and out of sight Cable Tidy Tubes to ensure multiple cables travelling between equipment is neatly contained Floor Cable Covers to make cable runs from desks to walls safe and tidy Cable & Plug ID Kits to avoid having to waste time working out what plug goes where when moving equipment A range of desk accessories to ensure wiring around desks stays secure and neat, even when equipment such as laptops has been removed.

Paul said: “Eight years ago, after 15 years of working as an electrical consultant, I grew tired of the problem, not only on a personal level, but being unable to answer clients’ questions about an easy, attractive solution to wiring. I decided on a career change and invented D-Line. Even since then, the problem has become more pronounced, with new advances in technology such as Blu-Ray players and Wii consoles.”
