New Blyth store is number 30 for Frank's
Frank’s the Flooring Store, one of the North East’s best known retailers, is opening a brand new shop in Blyth.
The Cowpen Lane store will be Frank’s 30th across the North East and third in Northumberland, where the company already has outlets in Ashington and Hexham.
Following the completion of a lease agreement, the 4,000 sq ft, single storey unit will open at the beginning of July, stocking remnant carpets, as well as rugs and laminate flooring.
Initially, the opening will create one new member of staff, with existing Frank’s employees establishing the store, while it is expected that at least two further jobs will follow later in the year.
Mick Copeland, Business Development Manager for Frank’s The Flooring Store, said: “We are very excited about bringing the Frank’s value and service to Blyth with this new store as we continue to grow our position across Northumberland and the wider North East.
“We will have the same great full range of carpets that customers expect of any Frank’s store, as well as hundreds of remnant carpets, laminate and vinyl flooring, and rugs, which is a relatively recent addition to our range of products.”
The first Frank’s store opened in 1996 in Stockton and the “I love carpets, me!” slogan, which remains one of the best known catchphrases in retail, was born. Following the success of the original store, expansion began in 1997, with the opening of two further stores and a warehouse distribution centre to accommodate the growing business was established in the following year.
