The rollout of 4G in the UK presents a game changing opportunity to secure a new competitive advantage in your industry. At Qudini, we have been fortunate to work with Telefónica’s O2 as an alumnus of their Wayra Academy. They have encouraged us to get “4G Ready” as they and others launch their networks this summer.

4G will offer wireless broadband internet connection to mobile devices for the first time in the shape of much improved speed and capacity. By 2017, indoor 4G coverage will be available to 98% of the UK population, if not before. As a business that relies on wireless connectivity, this will mean that we will be able to improve our existing service and create new and innovative ways to grow.

Qudini offers a digital solution to eliminate waiting times. Our success to date has been based on improving business efficiency, customer satisfaction and experience for our clients. The app allows customers to escape the frustrations of standing in line by joining a virtual queue using their smartphone. Did you know that Britons spend (on average) six hours a month standing in queues?

To deploy Qudini, clients use wifi and we provide 3G mobile routers as a supplement to ensure a steady internet connection. However, this is isn’t a long term fix if Qudini is going to grow in the way we know it can.

As well as enabling an even more stable internet connection, the rollout of 4G means that we will be able to grow our business. For example, we will be able to use Qudini at temporary locations like music festivals and at other locations where wifi is not installed. We will also be able integrate new services to run simultaneously alongside the existing app and provide richer content while a client’s customer is waiting, like complimentary video content.

4G offers all businesses the confidence to innovate, creating smarter hardware, software and other M2M technologies that can harness this new era of “always on” high-speed mobile connectivity. It is clear that businesses, which are 4G ready, have an opportunity to secure a competitive advantage - so we’re getting ready. You should too.
