Key appointment for David Wilson Homes

David Wilson Homes is set for expansion in the south west with the appointment of Mark Wright to head up the regional operation of the five star housebuilder.

Mark takes over the reins from Kelvin Tutill whose 16 year construction career with the group has included the provision of more than 10,000 homes in the south west.

“I’m looking to build on the firm foundations Kelvin has built,’’ said Mark who moves to the south west from David Wilson Homes in the Midlands. “This region has been a successful area for David Wilson Homes with buyers looking for premium homes, a high specification and our classic designs.’’

Mark, who is originally from the south west, said he was delighted to be leading the housebuilder at an exciting time for the industry.

“We have seen a rise in activity since the start of the year and government schemes such as the newly launched Help to Buy initiative have quickly given the residential market a boost,’’ said Mark.

Increased demand for new homes in the south west means that land acquisition is top of Mark’s list of priorities.

“Securing new land for our exclusive developments is crucial as we look to provide more homes for the future,’’ said Mark. “We are looking for potential development sites throughout the south west to meet strong demand for new homes and regenerate brownfield sites.’’

He said David Wilson Homes is on the search for sites such as disused factories and industrial estates, old hotels or even old care homes together with new sites such as unused fields.

“We have a busy few months ahead assessing what land is available and its potential for our new homes,’’ said Mark.

Outgoing managing director Kelvin Tutilll said he was pleased to leave the David Wilson Homes division in such capable hands. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and look forward to seeing the David Wilson Homes name grow in the south west as Mark leads the next phase of growth.’’

Mark is based at the company’s Bristol office and covers an area from Gloucester to Swindon and south to Exeter.
