LEP Inform event with SMEs
Businesses are invited to the first Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) Inform event this month to find out more about key opportunities which could improve their growth plans.
The SME Business Group of the CWLEP has organised the first of its bi-monthly Inform, Consult and Co-ordinate meetings across the region at Mythe Barn in Pinwall Lane, Sheepy Magna, Atherstone, between 7.45 am-9.30am on Thursday, June 20.
MIRA chief executive George Gillespie, CWLEP LEP board member, will open this first event with a presentation about the CWLEP and what it means to businesses across the sub-region.
Bruce Undy from the FSB and CWLEP board lead for the SME Business Group said these events are vital in communicating the support and opportunities available for businesses to grow in the short and long-term.
“Economic prosperity is one of the vital areas which LEPs throughout the country are concentrating on improving and to achieve that we need to work with companies of all sizes to help them expand and engage with the CWLEP,” he said.
“At this first Inform event, we will be discussing a number of important subjects and we hope as many SMEs as possible will be able to join us.
“We will be outlining the business support which exists as well as the procurement opportunities available giving businesses the chance to bid for work needed by local authorities and councils.
“Access to Finance remains a hot topic and we will be giving information on the CWLEP’s Small Loans Scheme which provides loans of up to £50,000 for SMEs in Coventry and Warwickshire for capital expenditure as well as the many grants which are available from different sources.
“Finally, there will be a presentation on the City Deal proposal - Re-engineering Engineering: Raising our Game which is another project we are working on to boost the sub-region’s economy.
“This event will also give business leaders the opportunity to ask questions and it will provide important opportunities for the start of a regular dialogue between SMEs and the CWLEP.”
