An award-winning County Durham business is celebrating the endorsement of one of the famous faces from BBC’s popular Dragons’ Den.
Anson Corporate Media of Wellbury Way in Newton Aycliffe received the boost from dragon and entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.
Paphitis set up Small Business Sunday #SBS on Twitter and each week rewards just six small businesses who tweet him a description of their operation by retweeting it to his 350,000 followers.
Recognition of the business by Paphitis can bring benefits which range from increased Twitter followers to increased sales and higher profile. The business can also use the Theo Paphitis #SBS winner’s logo.
Anson Corporate Media is run by Managing Director Lawrence Conyers from offices in Parsons Court. Lawrence said: “It was certainly a surprise and of course very welcome.
“We like to think what we do is good value and of great benefit to our national and international clients, but such an endorsement from someone who is such a celebrity in the business world is of course a huge boost.”
Lawrence is a widely experienced professional animator and film maker and since setting up in 2010 Anson www.ansoncorporatemedia.co.uk has won a number of awards, including the 2010 Tees Valley Unlimited New Business Award in the Marketing category and the 2010 and 2012 BNI International Video Competition.
He is also a published author and stage and film actor with well over 100 production credits.
He said: “This knowledge of performance from both behind and in front of the camera, gives an unrivalled understanding of communication using stills and media, and especially scripting and how to get messages over effectively.
“I have an unusually wide experience in almost every area of creative production and performance, with a particular emphasis on writing and especially - script-writing. Performing on stage and behind it countless times, in front of the camera and behind it, I understand what brings on an emotional reaction in the viewer.”
Companies which have used photography and media generated by Anson Corporate Media include PricewaterhouseCoopers, Amgen, Roche, Pfizer, a number of tourist attractions including Fenscape and Spinnaker Tower and many SMEs.
Although Paphitis is best known for appearing on Dragons Den, he is also Chairman of Ryman Stationery, Boux Avenue lingerie and Robert Dyas, as well as joint owner of Red Letter Days
He is also a mentor and investor to many other business acquainted via the Den including MagicWhiteboard, Wedgewelly and Value My Stuff.
