From apprentice to aspiring lawyer

Samuel Phillips Law Firm has promoted its apprentice to a full time post, and inspired him to aim to become a lawyer.

Hader Ali, 18 from Fenham, Newcastle, joined Samuel Phillips as an apprentice in April 2013. He has now been promoted to a full time post as an administrator with responsibility for the firm’s IT and office supplies.

Furthermore, working with Samuel Phillips Law Firm for 12 months has, in his own words, ’opened his eyes, and inspired him to work towards studying law at university. Having completed his NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration, Hader is currently studying for an Advanced Administration Apprenticeship through Key Training, which will give him an NVQ Level 3, and Level 3 Technical Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration, equivalent to A-levels, allowing him to apply for a university place. He has also applied to join the Special Constabulary. Samuel Phillips Law Firm is supporting him, by organising relevant experience and training.

Hader said: “Working with Samuel Phillips has built my confidence, and changed my perspective on my career. I’ve built up a thorough understanding of how a law firm operates, and have been inspired by those around me. My family and friends recognise that in a year I’ve matured, and been motivated through the responsibility I’ve been given.”

Sally Lomas Fletcher, partner with Samuel Phillips Law Firm, added: “Hader’s enthusiasm continues to build. He is taking on additional responsibilities, and showing considerable initiative in dealing with contractors and ensuring best value for money for the firm. We’re proud of how far he has come in a year, and happy to support his ambition to become a lawyer in any way we can. We look forward to seeing his career grow from here.”

Samuel Phillips Law Firm offers a comprehensive range of legal services to business and private clients.
