Callisto Integration's first European office in Warwick
Callisto Integration, global leader in industrial automation and manufacturing execution systems, has opened its first European office in Warwick.
Callisto, which has bases across North America, has responded to a demand for its services in Europe by moving into offices at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Warwick Innovation Centre in Gallows Hill.
A key focus for the company is Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) – which provides information needed by factory staff to effectively manage the manufacturing process from placement of orders to the production and shipment of finished products. Using real-time data, the MES system guides and reports on plant activities as they take place, providing management information not available through an Enterprise “ERP” system.
Bill Joss, European Director for Callisto Integration, said that the time was right to create a European office and the University of Warwick Science Park suited Callisto’s needs perfectly.
“We have important clients across Europe and we need to be closer to their headquarters and operating facilities,” he said. “We also wanted to operate in close proximity to a recognised technical University such as Warwick, with its international reputation in engineering, manufacturing and computer sciences.
“Being within a few hours’ travelling time of important clients means we can provide technical advice and input much more quickly as we expand our business in the area.
“We are acknowledged experts in automation and MES having installed hundreds of systems across the world over the past 20 years. Callisto is the only Invensys/Wonderware Endorsed Partner located and accredited in the UK, and we bring a new level of capability to a little understood but vital area of manufacturing and production.
“We are currently working with multi-national clients in the UK, Switzerland and Germany and our “end-to-end” capability from consultancy and systems design through to implementation and support means we are uniquely placed to provide solutions in a number of sectors including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, energy, utilities and, in fact, any multi-location, multi-line industrial operation.
“Callisto has 165 highly skilled employees throughout the world and our intention is to employ both experienced staff and graduates here in Warwick to service our growth plans.
“Geographically, the Midlands and the North of England are also target areas which means our base in Warwick is ideal in terms of access to the motorway network, main railway routes and international airports including Birmingham.”
Karen Aston, Centre Manager at the Warwick Innovation Centre, said the site remained as popular as ever in attracting new tenants.
“Callisto Integration is regarded as the global leader in MES and we are pleased to have welcomed such a highly-respected name within their sector to Warwick,” she said.
“They will be working closely with the University of Warwick to take on interns and graduates for their recruitment programme which is more positive news.
“This demonstrates the diverse mix of tenants that we have and emphasises that we provide the facilities which are needed whether it is a start-up business or a world-wide company.
“I am sure Callisto Integration will maintain their development plans and foster new relationships to increase their client base over future months and years.”
