EMS makes Dragon Boat Splash for Charity
Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) took to the River Dee to raise money for charity as part of the annual Chester Dragon Boat Festival.
The 16-strong EMS team raced a colourful Chinese-style long-boat, working in unison to get down a 250 meter course as fast as possible.
Friends and family cheered on as the roadshow truck tour squad competed against 19 other teams from across the region.
More than £850 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support – the charity of choice which was selected following a staff vote.
Keith Austin, Chief Executive at EMS said: “The Dragon Boat challenge is always a fantastic family day out and it’s great to be part of it. It brings out the fun and competitive spirit of our team and it was great to see so many friendly faces coming down to show their support and take advantage of the lovely warm weather.”
Lisa Wild, Fundraising Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support said “We’re delighted that EMS staff voted us as their charity of choice. The money raised will help us to support people living with cancer and their families.”
