Turnover success sparks recruitment drive at digital agency

A fast-expanding digital media agency is spearheading a recruitment drive to double its workforce after enjoying a growth in turnover.

Shout Digital, a Newcastle-based firm, has enjoyed a 35 per cent growth in turnover in the last three months and is on course to achieve a targeted turnover of £3m by the end of 2015.

The company has also hired eight new employees in the first round of a recruitment drive which will ultimately double its existing workforce of 22 within the next three years.

Based in Keel House, Garth Heads, Shout Digital specialises in delivering end-to-end services for businesses and recently opened offices in London to expand its reach.

Shout Digital CEO Gary Boon said: “Although 52 per cent of our business now comes from outside the North East my commitment to the region is absolute.

“From the outset it’s been my intention to create a business for the long term – that isn’t just about making money but that puts something back into the economy in terms of jobs and expertise.

“In my view, the future prosperity of the region is dependent on strong businesses in sectors, such as digital, that will stand the test of time.”

In 2012, Shout was voted Best Marketing Business in the North East for the second year running by leading industry figures at the MiAwards..

The company was also shortlisted for Digital Agency of the Year and Managing Director of the Year and now hopes to secure a place in The Drum Digital Top 100 UK Agencies, by 2015.

Last year it also joined Apple, Microsoft and Facebook as a member of W3C, an elite international committee spearheaded by internet founder Tim Berners-Lee, dedicated to protecting the future of the internet.
