Advertising on Bing as well as Google

Apple made an announcement on June 10 2013 informing the world that Bing will be the default search engine for Siri when iOS 7 is launched. This means whenever a user asks Siri to search for information it will be using the Bing search engine results as their index. If you are advertising there this could really give the traffic to your website a boost.

Need Traffic? Invest in PPC

It can be difficult to make an impact without taking part in any kind of online advertising. The marketing budget for most businesses starting out is often very limited and this can cause a series of dilemmas regarding the work that is carried out. While many companies choose to work on organic SEO initially they do not realise that this takes time, and to make any form of impact in the search engines in the first 6 to 12 months, PPC advertising is required.

Organic marketing is the way forward but it takes a very long time to become established. To land in the number one spot in Google or Bing requires consistent and frequent publishing of new content on your website as well as building quality links. The process is slow moving and it can feel like your hard work is all for nothing, especially in the first year. However, this is an ongoing process that takes constant attention. If you don’t want to wait a year to start seeing an influx in traffic, or if the organic SEO efforts are not paying off as you hoped, pay per click advertising needs to be worked into your marketing budget.

Search Engine Dominance

Google has for many years been the search engine businesses have invested in. This is because it is the most popular search engine out there; even now it remains on the highest pedestal. Google has almost 70% of the market share and the options it provides to its users cannot be matched anywhere else. However, Bing is starting to make an impact which is why it is important to consider using both.

In addition to the Bing integration by Apple it is worth noting that Bing now has a 17% market share of the search engines. While this is nowhere near Google it does show that it is the second most important search engine out there, and it is growing. If you are investing in Yahoo you may wish to switch over to Bing as yahoo now only has a market share of 12%.

Don’t Waste Your Money, Spend it Wisely for Dramatic Results

If you want the most from your investments in PPC it is worth discussing the best way forward with a direct response agency. They will be able to advise you on the search engines to target and create advertisements that are targeted in a way that will help the right users find their way directly through to your website.

Continue working on your organic SEO but use PPC to increase the traffic to your website during promotions and while you establish a top position in the organic results. Consider the importance of Bing and discover with the help of the professionals if this is an area that requires your attention.
