Newcastle firm launch specialist medical accountancy outfit

Newcastle-based independent financial advisers, Blackett Walker Ltd, have expanded with a new sister company to specialise in accountancy for medical professionals.

The niche accountancy firm will be led by specialist medical accountant Keith Taylor and tax expert Peter Waller, having previously worked together in the profession.

As Head of Medical Services, Keith will lead the new BW Medical Accountants firm, and will be backed by an experienced team with knowledge of the healthcare sector at all levels.

Keith said: “Peter and I have worked together for years and we both strongly felt it was the right time to make a bold step, taking up a challenge to create a real niche business with a different approach.

“This is an exciting new chapter for us and by bringing in a specialist team providing highly specialised NHS pension advice, we can offer a truly integrated service with specialists who have known and worked together for many years.”

The firm aim to provide specialist services to medical professionals, navigating them through complex NHS pension legislation.

Peter Waller brings will take position as head of tax at the new firm, bringing his 35 years of accountancy experience to the table.

He will be responsible for managing taxation requirements of a large portfolio of healthcare clients.

Blackett Walker IFA director Kevin Walker will also take up directorial duties at the new firm which will provide services for GP practices, practice managers, doctors, consultants, locums, dentists, and employed medical professionals.
