Holly Armstrong

Young property expert to lead new lettings division

A young Newcastle entrepreneur will lead a new urban lettings service as part of expanding North East rural property specialists George F. White Group (GFW).

28-year-old Holly Armstrong has risen through the ranks of George F. White since starting five years ago and will lead GFW Letting, a business designed to cater for the modern rental market.

As director, Holly will lead a team of five young professionals who will cover Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.

The new venture reflects the expanding buy-to-let market and a rise in what GFW refer to as the “accidental landlord,” or owner-occupiers who rent due to a change in circumstances.

Hugh Fell, Managing Director of the George F. White Group, said: “As more and more people enter the rental market, we saw a real opportunity to offer a personal service to both landlords and tenants.

“At George F. White, we have well over 30 years’ experience in property and it is a momentous step for us to be expanding into the urban rental market. The senior management team at GFW Letting are all passionate about property and offering a great service to all clients and it is testament to their hard work and dedication that we are able to take the business forward in this way. I am delighted to be announcing the launch of GFW Letting.”

Holly, a law graduate from Northumbria University, said: “The team behind GFW Letting is committed to working with landlords and tenants to enhance their experiences in renting property – we recognise the investment both make in the rental process and we want people to feel supported during the experience of getting where they want to be.

“We know that many people want the flexibility and freedom to live their lives as they choose. GFW Letting is all about facilitating that lifestyle choice with a bespoke service.

“Urban life in the North East is vibrant and engaging, representing great opportunities for growth and connecting with like-minded individuals. The North East rental market has been increasingly active in recent years and is reflective of the exciting opportunities available to both landlords and tenants in this region.”

Holly will be supported by a team comprising Newcastle lettings manager, Fran Mulhall; Northumberland lettings manager, Lorna Morris; property manager, Stacey Hogg and lettings valuer, Simon Harrison.

Fran added: “I have always wanted to work in property, since the age of 10 when I started cutting properties out of the paper, so for me, this is the dream job. As we take GFW Letting forward, I’ll be on hand to advise and support all of our clients, both landlords and tenants, as they take the step into property rentals. It is extremely important to me to offer an end-to-end service for all of our clients, to ensure they are fully supported throughout the whole process.”
