Tyneside brewery pulls jet brew

Newcaslte’s Tyne Bank Brewery has teamed up with Jet2.com to create a special beer in honour of the first Newcastle-Pula flight.

The brewery have created what they believe to be a “Newcastle meets Croatia” beer to mark the launch of the route.

Passengers at Newcastle International Airport were first to taste the custom-brew but Jet Brew’ will be available in several Newcastle pubs this week.

Steve Heapy, Chief Executive Officer of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to give our Pula passengers a sample of Jet Brew, our specially created Croatian inspired beer, as they take off on our first flight from the region.

“With its breathtaking scenery and wealth of culture to explore, Pula is our second Croatian destination available from Newcastle. This stunning city is proving to be extremely popular and we remain committed to giving our loyal customers in the North East even more choice and flexibility when it comes to selecting their holiday.”

Julia Austin, director at Tyne Bank Brewery, added: ‘We are extremely excited to launch both Jet Brew and Pula Pint week. Newcastle’s dark ale tradition is in direct contrast to Pula’s light lager, so developing a recipe that blends the characteristics of the two destinations was a real challenge but one I’m confident we have pulled off.“

Laura Halliday, aviation sales executive at Newcastle International Airport, welcomed the new route and remarked the first flight was popular with North East holiday makers.
