A warm reception for frozen yogurt store
Sweet toothed shoppers - will be licking their lips at the arrival of the North East’s first frozen yogurt store at Royal Quays Outlet Centre.
‘Yogurlution’ is set to be a firm favourite for shoppers looking to cool down this summer.
It is the first business venture of its kind for Holly Wright and Mark Holmes as they set up shop at Royal Quays.
Holly, originally from Morpeth, said: “Mark and myself have talked about opening a store for years, we have friends who own a frozen yogurt company abroad and after tasting a sample on holiday it became a daily necessity!
“Once you have frozen yogurt you don’t want to go back to ice cream, it’s both delicious and nutritious!
“We have a range of flavours for people to try such as caramel and cherry as well as a variety of yogurt milkshakes and smoothies.
“We both have a background in retail sales having built up other companies. We wanted to do something different and thought this would be a great venture. We chose Royal Quays because of the excellent range of shops and its proximity to the port, shoppers flock to the centre from the ferries.
“Going forward, we hope to open another store and are looking to expand our product range by offering waffles and other tasty snacks.”
Centre Manager, Judith Ramshaw, said: “Yogurlution is a great addition to the centre, frozen yogurt is fast becoming a best seller!
“I am delighted that they chose Royal Quays as the location for the first shop, it is already proving popular and we will continue to assist them as they settle in.
“As a centre, we are the base for both independent and larger stores and it is great to add this little gem to our offering.”
Royal Quays has 50 stores which employ around 500 staff, making it an important employment hub for the North Tyneside area.
It is home to a number of top brands offering up to 60% off RRP such as Marks & Spencer Outlet, Nike Factory Store, Gap Outlet, Collectables Outlet, Clarks, Hallmark Outlet, Next and Mountain Warehouse, along with a vast range of local, independent retailers specialising in areas such as sport, fashion, jewellery, music and electrical items.
As well as attracting famous brands, since it was opened in 1996, Royal Quays has achieved great success in assisting local retailers looking to get to the next stage of their development.
Packages include competitive and flexible rent agreements that can be linked to store performance as well as expert advice from the on-site management team on marketing, shop design, presentation and sales.
