Spa show on track for Ricoh sell-out
The UK’s leading pool and spa exhibition has sold over three quarters of its stand space for SPATEX 2014 ahead of its move to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Exhibitors in the pool and spa industry will be showcasing the latest high-tech products in over 150 categories in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall between Sunday, February 2 to Tuesday, February 4.
Michele Bridle, the show’s organiser, is delighted by the overwhelming support shown by the industry.
She said: “We are planning on SPATEX 2014 Ricoh-style being bigger and better than anything that has gone before in the show’s illustrious 18-year history and we have got off to a flying start.
“SPATEX is much more than an exhibition as it provides a range of fantastic networking opportunities and social events.
“We bill this as being ‘By the industry, For the industry’ but the show is often referred to as ‘The Exhibition which attracts the experts’ because of the range and depth of the exhibitors that we attract.”
Hundreds of pool and spa builders, installers, retailers, designers, architects, distributors, builders and manufacturers along with staff from local authorities, leisure centres, hotels and holiday complexes will be among those attending the show which opens at 9.30am each day.
Stephen Crabb, MD of Catalina Spas Ltd, said he is looking forward to the exhibition being on one floor and is confident that the new venue will entice more exhibitors and visitors.
He said: “Brighton has been very good for us over the years but we feel a change will provide the organisers with a new ‘story’ that will, without doubt, generate interest and, we hope, a good following and support from our industry.”
A Leisure Operators’ day will also be held on February 4 with leading industry experts providing expert training and workshops for managers and leisure operators while the Institute of Swimming and Pool Engineers will be hosting a programme of technical workshops.
Liz Cooper, marketing director of the Ricoh Arena said they were looking forward to hosting SPATEX.
She said: “We are continuing to attract exhibitions from across the country due to a combination of our central location and excellent facilities.
“I am sure SPATEX will be sold out when the show takes place because of the tremendous backing which the industry is showing.”
