4Networking Quayside celebrates 4th birthday
Over 40 North East businesses have attended a celebratory meeting to mark the 4th birthday of 4Networking’s Quayside group.
4Networking (www.4networking.biz), a national business networking organisation, has been running fortnightly breakfast meetings at Newcastle’s Copthorne Hotel for the last four years.
The milestone meeting was attended by current members from 4Networking groups around the North East, plus a number of first-time visitors from local businesses.
A raffle with well over £1000 worth of prizes from local businesses was held, raising £350 for The XL Challenge. This is a year-long effort by the group’s leader, David McGarry, to complete 40 challenges in his 40th year.
All proceeds will go to Dravet Syndrome UK, a charity supporting those suffering from a neurological condition that causes severe seizures, alongside learning disabilities and autism.
Mike McCoy, Area Leader for 4N’s Quayside, Cramlington, Airport and Gosforth groups, said: “We wanted to do something special to mark the group’s 4th birthday, plus we were keen to help David complete another of his 40 challenges, so we decided to keep with the ‘4’ theme and aim for 40 businesses in the room.
“We ended up with over 40 and the meeting was a big success – everyone commented on how much they had enjoyed it. Hopefully the members and visitors that attended also made some valuable new business connections, which after all is what 4N is all about.”
Regional Leader Tom Lawrence added: “It was fantastic to see so many 4N members and new visitors at the meeting, and there was a great atmosphere throughout so well done to the Quayside team.
“It succeeded in showcasing one of our most established and popular groups in the North East. I’m sure that this birthday meeting will lead to the continued growth of 4N Quayside, and any visitors who would like to come along to an upcoming meeting are very welcome to join us.”
