Odgers Berndtson Launches Private Equity Practice
Odgers Berndtson has appointed Simon Havers to head up its new practice dedicated to the Private Equity sector. Simon joins the City-based firm from Baird Capital Partners Europe Limited where he was Chief Executive. He has also previously held the Chairmanship of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA).
Simon’s new role will see him developing Odgers Berndtson’s presence in the Private Equity market in interim management, executive search, non-executive appointments and management assessment. After graduating with an MA in Engineering & Management from Cambridge University, Simon held a number of corporate positions before entering the Private Equity sector 18 years ago.
Grant Speed, Managing Director of Odgers Interim, commented: “I am delighted Simon has joined us. He has been a well known and much respected figure in the Private Equity community for many years so brings with him a wealth of experience, insight and contacts. Our aim is to now expand our position in that market - especially as it complements many of our existing activities.“
Simon said: “Odgers Berndtson is a name that I have admired for its professionalism for many years and its recent rapid growth to become market leader has been particularly impressive. It has a wide range of capabilities that are well suited to private equity firms and their portfolio companies, both in the UK and internationally. I will be applying my industry experience to help understand our clients’ issues and objectives and produce a solution tailored to their needs.“
