Deloitte looks to North West technology firms
Deloitte have opened up entries for their 2013 UK Technology Fast 50 awards, and urged North West firms to enter.
Now in their 16th year, the awards rank and recognise technology companies with notable growth in turnover for the past five years.
In 2012, two North West businesses were announced in the top 50. The Hut Group came in 12th with a growth rate of 1368%, alongside Crewe-based Eze Talk, which brought in revenue growth of 606% in 39th place.
Jodi Birkett, TMT partner at Deloitte in the North West, said: “The North West has an impressive and growing technology sector that has spawned some of the most innovative businesses of the past decade.
“These are the companies that are now among those driving growth in the region and pushing into new markets.
“We know there are plenty more out there as the North West continues to mature as a technology stronghold. The UK Technology Fast 50 awards have consistently highlighted these pioneers and we look forward to seeing this year’s entries.”
Other North West businesses mentioned in Deloitte’s previous Fast 50 lists have included ANS Group, UKFast and Daisy Group.
Across the country, the revenue generated by Deloitte’s Fast 50 companies comes to £1.5bn, which is the highest it has been for the last five years, and 38% higher than 2011.
