Castle secure two contracts worth £5m

Hebburn-based Castle Building Services have secured two projects worth a combined £5m.

The first of the new contracts will see Castle work closely with Miller Construction on the £8.6m project to transform Newcastle Central Station.

Castle have also been appointed to work on the development of a new headquarters building for Durham Constabulary, alongside Kier Construction North East.

3-D modelling will be used for the building as it requires hi-specification and natural ventilation.

The contracts follow Castle’s involvement with a listed five-storey castle in Scotland and the Gateshead Trinity Square scheme, where the firm was responsible for delivering all mechanical and electrical services to the cinema, energy centre, office accommodation and primary care trust facility, on the development.

Commercial director, Allan Carr, said: “Castle Building Services is fast becoming recognised in the industry both locally and further afield, for its flexible approach and ability to adopt innovative solutions to the modern day challenges of building services.

Castle currently employs 100 staff across its head office on the Monkton Business Park, Hebburn and sites in the north east, Scotland and Manchester. It is anticipated that the contractor will make a further announcement about job creation in the coming months.
