Top NE golf tournament attracts big name sponsors

Leading names have been confirmed as sponsors for this year’s Northern Golf Masters (NGM) at 5* Rockliffe Hall in Hurworth, County Durham.

The tournament, now in its second year, was a huge success last year attracting over 100 golfers from across the North who competed to be crowned the best amateur club golfer in the region.

The Northern Golf Masters tournament will be held at Rockliffe Hall Golf Club on Sunday 28th July with golfers from across Teesside, County Durham, North Yorkshire, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Cumbria taking part.

This year’s sponsors have been confirmed as Cooper Teesside BMW, Cleveland Srixon, Andersons of Durham and the Northern Echo.

Cooper Teesside BMW will be hosting test drives on the day while Andersons of Durham- who have a 30 year reputation for providing top quality handmade British shoe brands including Loakes, Hunter and Barkers- will be providing prizes for the winners.

Earlier this year, Rockliffe Hall’s golf club became a Cleveland Golf and Srixon Centre of Excellence providing an advanced custom-fitting service for players of all levels and developed a purpose built, state-of-the-art Cleveland Golf Fitting Cart with a technology-driven fitting service and specially trained technicians- Rockliffe Hall is the only one in the North of England. Cleveland Srixon will be attending the event with their tour truck, en route to the Ladies British Open at St Andrew’s, and offering advice on fitting issues.

And, for the second year running, the Northern Echo is the NGM’s media partner.

Meanwhile, Rockliffe Hall has released a limited number of sponsorship packages for the prestigious William Hunt Trilby Tour Grand Final on Wednesday August 28th which is televised on Sky Sports.

Following two successful years hosting the Championship of Durham, the William Hunt Trilby Tour Grand Final will this year take place at Rockliffe Hall, the first time the final has been held in the North with previous Grand Final venues including The Buckinghamshire, London Golf Club and Stoke Park, all in the south of England.

The Trilby Tour is the UK’s premier televised amateur golf tournament, broadcast exclusively across the Sky Sports network attracting over two million viewers, and was founded by world-renowned fashion designer and golf enthusiast, William Hunt.

Rockliffe Hall is offering companies or individuals the chance to be a corporate partner with a number of opportunities available which offer benefits including advertising and branding to hundreds of competitors and spectators on the day and over two million when the tournament is televised, golf days and golf membership. A special ‘Platinum Package’ which offers a full two-day Trilby experience including food, drinks, accommodation, golf, q and a sessions with Graeme Storm and a range of promotional opportunities is also available.

Head PGA professional at Rockliffe Hall, Jon Stacey, said: “This summer is promising to be a really exciting time for golf in the North East. These two tournaments are attracting hundreds of people from all over the UK and putting not just Rockliffe Hall, but also our region, on the map. We’ve had lots of interest in our sponsorship opportunities and are really pleased to have such prestigious sponsors on board for the NGM. We’ve also had lots of people enquiring about the Trilby Tour so have come up with a range of options to suit a host of budgets which really will give companies the chance to showcase their brand to high profile visitors and millions of people on Sky Sports.”
