Liverpool Chamber signs Far East deal
Liverpool Chamber of Commerce has signed an international deal with the Far East in a bid to promote trade with the Merseyside city’s businesses.
Both the Indonesian Government and the Singaporean Government signed an agreement with Liverpool’s Chamber, which will support their businesses in international trade.
The Memorandum of Understanding will also promote growth of investment between the countries and offer support to businesses overseas, as well as helping with networking and providing office facilities and services.
Liverpool Chamber agreed the deal after a series of foreign trade delegations visited the city, while they hosted a round table event last week with Invest Macedonia, a Macedonian Government organisation, to further encourage international trade.
The Chamber also welcomed Russian representatives at a similar event last week which was held to discuss the importance of corporate identity and urban marketing.
Jenny Stewart, chief operating officer at the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, said: “The Chamber is committed to nurturing businesses to grow both inside and outside of the UK and the agreement with Singapore and Indonesia marks a key milestone in our efforts to offer businesses overseas support.
“Promoting trade in emerging markets is essential for Liverpool’s economic prosperity and I am delighted we are now in a position to extend our support services further afield.
“We look forward to working with local businesses looking to establish themselves in new and exciting marketplaces and the success this will bring in the future.”
