Merseyside children to celebrate launch of imaginary city
Holyrood Nursery Princes Dock invites Merseyside children to celebrate launch of soft play and imaginary city
First ever Liverpool nursery to include soft play facilities praised by child psychologist
Young children from around Merseyside are being invited to try out the new soft play area and imaginary city that will be enjoyed on a daily basis by every child enrolled at Holyrood Nursery Princes Dock.
Situated next to Malmaison on William Jessop Way, Holyrood Nursery Princes Dock is the first in Liverpool to offer soft play facilities for children in its care and to celebrate the launch, it will open its doors to the general public between 10am and 3pm on Saturday 20 July.
Some £100,000 has been invested in creating the new soft play area, covering 14,000 sq ft of the nursery, which launched in April 2011 to care for children from birth up to five years of age.
Families are being invited to visit the nursery during the open day so children from around Merseyside and Cheshire can test-drive the new play areas, take a look around the other state-of-the-art facilities at the nursery and connect with its passionate and experienced staff.
The new soft play and imaginary city facilities have been praised by Dr Ailis Murphy, Clinical Director of Northwest Psychology Consultants with special interest in child development, who said: “This new facility provides an ideal fun and stimulating environment for children to have interactive play with others. It is through such physical and interactive play that a considerable portion of neural development takes place, and it is essential for healthy emotional and cognitive growth.”
Nursery manager, Lynn Blay said: “Holyrood Nurseries has always prided itself on offering extra space in which children can learn and develop, but Princes Dock nursery has that and much more.
“It’s the only nursery in Liverpool to offer soft play facilities to children, who will be able to use it on a daily basis for both physical exercise and fun. Our life-sized imaginary city with hospital, café, library and builder’s yard and has also been built for play and to fuel their imaginations.”
Holyrood Nursery Princes Dock is bright and spacious with state-of-the-art facilities and a generously equipped outdoor play area and garden. Making life easier for parents, it offers dedicated parent parking available for easy drop off and collection, as well as adjacent all day parking facilities for easy access into the city centre. Time-saving services for parents include dry cleaning, ironing drop off and collection and delivery acceptance service.
