Five-figure investment for Newcastle events firm
North East company Benchmark Conference & Events have secured a five-figure sum to fund further growth.
The Newcastle-based firm have enjoyed strong performance since becoming established in 1994.
Investment comes from the Finance for Business North East Angel Fund, managed by Rivers Capital Partners Ltd and will be used for expansion.

“Their creativity, expertise and sheer professionalism made my event a huge success and now I’m absolutely delighted that our fund has been able to support the company’s growth.”
This summer, Benchmark have organised an international medical conference for 500 ear specialists as well as the North East Accountancy Awards that attracted a record breaking 400 delegates.
The firm have also been involved with the International AIC Colour Congress in Gateshead that is estimated to be worth over £1.1m to the region.
Dr. Dorothy Inverarity, who has joined Benchmark as a Senior Project Manager from MCI in Brussels, said: “This major event was very exciting not only for Benchmark but for the region. The AIC Colour Congress provided an excellent platform to showcase what the North East has to offer.
“This was the type of event that we at Benchmark have an excellent track record in producing, making it a welcome addition to our portfolio.”
