Seddon starts £5.1m Lancashire care home project
Construction has started on a new £5.1m care home in Banks, Lancashire, for the owner Cinnamon Care Capital.
Seddon Construction started work on the home, which will be operated by care home provider Barchester Healthcare once completed.
The work, which started this month, will create more than 60 permanent jobs at the 3,643 sq m care home when it opens.
Seddon expects the development, which was designed by Condy Lofthouse Architects, to be finished by August 2014.
John Gilman, national pre-construction manager for care sector projects for Seddon, says: “We’re delighted to be using our expertise in creating high-quality, modern care homes to build this brand-new facility.
“By working with our clients from the outset we ensure the design and specification meet all their requirements; the experience of our team ensures we deliver construction quality of the highest standard.”
The contract was negotiated by Seddon who identified the site and obtained planning permission.
This is Seddon’s second development for Barchester and follows the development of a 50-bed Cheshire Grange care home in Lymm, Cheshire.
