FES International strike £250,000 offshore order
Bluewater energy services have returned to Ashington’s FES International to upgrade their systems nine years after their original order.
The order for the £250,000 Seawater Uptake System (SUS) will be used on the Haewene Brim floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which is leased to Shell Expro to produce and offload fluids from the Pierce Field in the UK sector of the North Sea.
The new contract will replace the hose FES international first supplied for Bluewater back in 2004 and will include the refurbishment of the main interface equipment.
The Seawater Uptake System ensures a continuous supply of cooling seawater to the FPSO process system, from a water depth which minimises temperature variations and uptake of marine life. Reliable operation of the SUS is critical to the performance of the FPSO process system.
Ian Latimer, co-founder and Technical Director at FES International said: “The biggest endorsement that our customers can give us, is placing repeat orders. Bluewater’s FPSOs are renowned for operating in some of the harshest environments and throughout our longstanding relationship with them we’ve consistently delivered technology that meets their exacting performance standards.
“This project is the latest in a host of new business wins by FES and marks an important time for the company as we continue to grow the business following our move into new premises earlier this year.”
