Kicking off a new career
A talented footballer has kicked off a new career with a Coventry leisure organisation.
Sam Gorrie, 23, represented England at schoolboy and university level as well as spending time with Blackpool FC’s Academy.
And now he is turning his passion for sport into a career after joining Coventry Sports Foundation as the organisation’s Lifestyles Health Clubs membership sales advisor.
The former Leeds Metropolitan University student will work across the three sites managed by Coventry Sports Foundation; the Alan Higgs Centre, in south-east Coventry; Xcel Leisure Centre, in south-west Coventry and Centre AT7 in the north of the city.
His role will include improving customer relations and client retention as well as the promotion of the Health Clubs and the corporate packages available.
He will also look to actively engage the community by supporting local events such as the Race for Life and the Coventry Fun Run.
Sam, from Stivichall in Coventry, said: “I was attracted to Coventry Sports Foundation by the fast-paced, energetic nature of the organisation.
“As a young employee, it is satisfying to be in a role where I am able to use my energy and passion in order to develop and implement my own ideas.
“My main aim is to demonstrate to the community that Coventry Sports Foundation and Lifestyles Health Clubs offer something for everyone; the whole family and all levels of ability as well as offering IFI accredited equipment.
“The organisation does a lot of great work out in the community and in schools, and I am proud to be associated with the work of Coventry Sports Foundation.”
