Yorkshire hotel bookings jump in anticipation of Tour
Laterooms.com have reported a “huge” booking spike at Harrogate hotels on the weekend of the Tour de France opening stage.
Following Chris Froome’s recent win, the hotel booking platform said reservations are set to be up 30% on the same weekend in 2013.
Leeds too has experienced a 17% increase in bookings on the same weekend in 2013, so far.
Head of marketing at Laterooms, Lynda Matthews, said: “With UK cycling success sky high at the moment, it’s no wonder Tour de France fans are booking so far in advance for Yorkshire 2014
“We are really excited to be able to offer lots of hotel availability for the areas this international event is passing through, and pleased that our customers are taking advantage of the fact they can book up to a year in advance.”
