Danger Mouse creators appoint Leeds licensing agency

Leeds licensing agency Lisle International has been appointed to represent a new British animation series, Pip!

The show, aimed at a pre-school audience, has been created by CHF Entertainment and stars a character called Pip and his adventures in the town of ‘Salty Cove.’

Lisle will manage all global aspects of licensing and merchandise, drawing on their wide network of brand relationships.

The deal’s value will hinge on the show’s success in the UK and overseas markets.

CHF are known as the creators of hit 1980s TV shows such as Danger Mouse and Wind in the Willows.

Simon Hall, managing director and head of production at CHF Entertainment: “As filmmakers, British animators have the enviable reputation of being the most talented storytellers in the world today.

“Pip!’s fantastic world of crazy Mouse Pirates and not-so-tough Puffins has incredible appeal, mixing all the right ingredients for fun and excitement in every episode. We are thrilled to be working with esteemed licensing agency, Lisle International, which is widely recognised as one of the foremost licensing and merchandising brands in our industry for this very magical ride with a slightly mischievous yet adorable pup.”

Gayle Tarrant, Lisle International added: “The team at Lisle are both delighted and proud to be working on such a promising new property and with such a great team. It is our intention to build a prestigious long term licensing programme with partners who can best understand, create and deliver pre-school product.”

A range of merchandising opportunities is planned for Pip! to turn it into a long term international brand including a Master Toy License, publishing, games, internet, mobile content, music and an education programme, to name a few, all of which will be leveraged from the global television platform.

CHF say children’s TV is still “big business” and suggest over £10bn has been spent on children aged 0-14 years in the UK in the 12 months to March 2013.

Lisle have relationships with major retailers such as Argos, Tesco, Next and Sainsbury’s and work with promotional partners such as McDonalds, Burger King and Quick in France.
