More Newcastle holiday flights from Thomas Cook

Thomas Cook has introduced extra seats for North East holiday makers travelling from Newcastle Airport through new flights to Dalaman and the Greek island of Kos.

Daily departures to the Turkish resort and a new Sunday afternoon flight to the Greek island will commence in summer 2014.

Rob Thompson, Thomas Cook Airline’s director of planning, said: “It’s great news that we’re able to offer holidaymakers in the North East even more choices for their summer break to Turkey or Greece from Newcastle International with our new flights.

“Newcastle International is a great partner for us and we’re extremely pleased that we’re able to offer an increased schedule for both our flight-only and holiday customers. We’ve worked with the airport for many successful years and we’re very excited about developing our partnership even further.”

Thomas Cook already serve 24 destinations from Newcastle Airport, and operates stores in the Newcastle area.

Newcastle Northumberland Street branch manager, Sandra Foreman, said: “We always see demand for local departures from Newcastle Airport - it’s the first thing people ask for. These new flights will mean that we are now able to offer even more holidays and different durations to our top destinations – great news for holidaymakers in our region.”

Dave Laws, chief executive of Newcastle International Airport added: “It’s great to see Thomas Cook Airlines recognising the demand which exists in the region for flying from Newcastle International Airport, and with increased flexibility we’re hoping that passengers will take advantage of these extra seats in 2014 to help encourage even more growth in the future.”
