Ellis strike Myanmar offshore deal
North Yorkshire manufacturer Ellis has secured a deal to supply a $2bn offshore gas project off the coast of Myanmar.
The Rillington-based firm will provide cable cleats for power lines on the Zawtika Development Project in the Gulf of Martaban.
Ellis’ Singapore distributor, Cables International, struck the deal.
The project is being developed by Petroleum Authority of Thailand Exploration and Production International and Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise.
Tony Conroy, Ellis’ export sales director, said: “Ellis has local distributors in 27 different countries – an export model that has helped us gain worldwide recognition as the leading manufacturer of cable cleats.
“Other recent major specifications include being specified for the first project in the world to convert natural gas from coal seams into LNG in Australia.”
Ellis’ cable cleats are designed and manufactured to withstand forces exerted by electrical cables.
